This is really creepy - Hitlerjugend coming to your school

President Obama’s Address to Students Across America September 8, 2009 -

Schools that wouldn't even post a picture of the previous President are slobbering all over themselves with this one.

All I can say is, they better have an opt-out option. ◼ Read it. It's pretty creepy.

"Why is it important that we listen to the President, and other elected officials, like the mayor, senators, members of congress, or the governor? Why is what they say important? Heh, how about IS what they say important?

As the President speaks teachers can ask students to write down key ideas or phrases... students could use a note-taking graphic organizer such as a Cluster-web, or students could record their thoughts on sticky notes... they could think about the following: What is the President trying to tell me? What is the President asking me to do?

Imagine if Bush had done this! No, This is the precursor to Obama's mandatory volunteerism (Universal Voluntary Public Service). He spelled it out during the campaign, so many hours for little kids, more for high school... then it will be you can't get student loans unless you have complied, can't get into college unless you have complied...

This is wrong. And if there is one thing that is going to turn people off - it is this excessive, unending preaching by Obama and his ilk. Get off it.

Call your school today, find out if they are planning to "participate" - find out if they have an opt-out plan. And let them know that if they don't have an opt-out plan they will have no ADA (average daily attendance) money for that day.

Obama says that as president he will "set a goal for all American middle and high school students to perform 50 hours of service a year, and for all college students to perform 100 hours of service a year." What he doesn't say is that he'll make such voluntarism compulsory by attaching strings to federal education dollars. The schools will make the kids volunteer. It's called plausible deniability.

The Food Police

Dumb Law Makes Coffee Illegal in NYC

Remember when anti-smoking laws were first getting started? It started with NO-SMOKING sections. And people who warned of the slippery slope were called alarmists as politicians and friends alike said, "NO. That will never happen."

Kinda like the Health Care debate now - those who are wondering about the slippery slope are being called liars who spread "disinformation." "No, that is not in the bill."

Well neither was this. And the 'alarmists' who predicted that hamburgers from Burger King would be next have been proven right - as the Nanny State grew, and the food police proliferated. All the things they said would never happen are now codified into law, including no smoking in your car, in your house. Pepsi machines are banned in schools and ever tightening regulations are ever more intrusive into your personal life.

It wasn't in the bill. It wasn't in the plan.

"It isn't in the bill"

"We'll work out the details later," said Obama.

And you expect people to be blind. Trust the govt. That'll never happen...

Has Pope/Rabbi/High Priest Gore trying to shame people about their morals - and they're reduced to stumping for "The One."

Clinton, at least can be said to have tried something before - unlike all the worthless Congressbeasts who suddenly would have you think this is SO vital that they never tried to do anything about it in all their long and glorious tenure.

“I’m not a very good politician any more; I just say what I think,” Clinton said. “But I have been waiting for this for 40 years ... to recreate the American dream.”

Religion is a means to an end, a tool for this President. the Church he attended was the one that would get him ahead, the one he needed in order to pretend to be religious in order to get elected. Since taking office, no church. Shines on the National day of Prayer. Now, he must think everyone views religion as he does, a meaningless means to an end. Asking clergy of any religion to help him his "health care plan" is the ultimate in disrespect - especially since no one knows WHAT IT REALLY IS - no details have been worked out, there are five plans floating around, it is Congress's business at this point, not his, and there are very very serious concerns and issues to be addressed before he forces a ramrodding of what is really nothing more than his will, his win.

U.S. Department of Labor:

For the sake of all who live and work in Nevada, we can't let this bully behavior pass without calling out Sen. Reid.

Enough is enough, Harry - Stop the childish bullying Review journal
...as Bob shook hands with our senior U.S. senator in what should have been nothing but a gracious business setting, Reid said: "I hope you go out of business."

Later, in his public speech, Reid said he wanted to let everyone know that he wants the Review-Journal to continue selling advertising because the Las Vegas Sun is delivered inside the Review-Journal.

Such behavior cannot go unchallenged.

You could call Reid's remark ugly and be right. It certainly was boorish. Asinine? That goes without saying.

But to fully capture the magnitude of Reid's remark (and to stop him from doing the same thing to others) it must be called what it was -- a full-on threat perpetrated by a bully who has forgotten that he was elected to office to protect Nevadans, not sound like he's shaking them down.

No citizen should expect this kind of behavior from a U.S. senator. It is certainly not becoming of a man who is the majority leader in the U.S. Senate. And it absolutely is not what anyone would expect from a man who now asks Nevadans to send him back to the Senate for a fifth term....

Never piss off people who buy ink by the barrel.

It is amazing the behavior we are seeing by elected officials who played nice-y nice to get elected, but aren't even being polite anymore, now that they see themselves as the arbiters. No longer servants of the people, they seek to become dictators. redi should go down in history as one of the worst politicians in American History.

Editorial: What Happens in VegasDoes NOT Stay in Vegas
Sometimes, it seems, the American people just get in the way. Which is why the members of Congress have recently turned to labeling their constituents “un-American,” “brownshirts,” and (Mr. Reid’s word) “evil mongers.”

Nevadans and the rest of the American people ought to echo the words of the Las Vegas Review-Journal and let those in Washington know that henceforth this kind of “creepy tactic will not be tolerated.”

Otherwise, the odds are about 100 to 1 that Washington’s “public servants” will increasingly ignore and abhor the public they have come to disdain.

Bill would give president emergency control of Internet

In May, President Obama acknowledged that the government is "not as prepared" as it should be to respond to disruptions and announced that a new cybersecurity coordinator position would be created inside the White House staff. Three months later, that post remains empty, one top cybersecurity aide has quit, and some wags have begun to wonder why a government that receives failing marks on cybersecurity should be trusted to instruct the private sector what to do.

Internet companies and civil liberties groups were alarmed this spring when a U.S. Senate bill proposed handing the White House the power to disconnect private-sector computers from the Internet.
They're not much happier about a revised version that aides to Sen. Jay Rockefeller, a West Virginia Democrat, have spent months drafting behind closed doors. CNET News has obtained a copy of the 55-page draft of S.773 (excerpt), which still appears to permit the president to seize temporary control of private-sector networks during a so-called cybersecurity emergency.

"I think the redraft, while improved, remains troubling due to its vagueness," said Larry Clinton, president of the Internet Security Alliance, which counts representatives of Verizon, Verisign, Nortel, and Carnegie Mellon University on its board. "It is unclear what authority Sen. Rockefeller thinks is necessary over the private sector. Unless this is clarified, we cannot properly analyze, let alone support the bill."

yet - Congress keeps spending lavishly on themselves, while asking you to tighten your belt.

The latest - US House of Representatives have now made it possible for Congressional aides to receive nice bonuses - House employees making over $168,000 a year can get government funded subsidies to pay for their outstanding student loans. Cost to the taxpayers - you - $12.6 million.

Congress discovers the virtue of retention bonuses
The deficit for the next ten years will go at least as high a $9 trillion. This will be the fourth budget from the Democrats, and it will be even more unbalanced than the three that preceded it.

Got a student loan you are trying to pay off? Who's going to help you? And how?

IRS must divulge taxpayer identity information, filing status, modified adjusted gross income, number of dependents, and "other information

That information will be provided to the new Health Choices Commissioner and state health programs and used to determine who qualifies for "affordability credits."

Democratic Health Care Bill Divulges IRS Tax Data cbsnews

Section 431(a) of the bill says that the IRS must divulge taxpayer identity information, including the filing status, the modified adjusted gross income, the number of dependents, and "other information as is prescribed by" regulation. That information will be provided to the new Health Choices Commissioner and state health programs and used to determine who qualifies for "affordability credits."

Section 245(b)(2)(A) says the IRS must divulge tax return details -- there's no specified limit on what's available or unavailable -- to the Health Choices Commissioner. The purpose, again, is to verify "affordability credits."

Section 1801(a) says that the Social Security Administration can obtain tax return data on anyone who may be eligible for a "low-income prescription drug subsidy" but has not applied for it.

Over at the Institute for Policy Innovation (a free-market think tank and presumably no fan of Obamacare), Tom Giovanetti argues that: "How many thousands of federal employees will have access to your records? The privacy of your health records will be only as good as the most nosy, most dishonest and most malcontented federal employee.... So say good-bye to privacy from the federal government. It was fun while it lasted for 233 years."

...If we're going to have such significant additional government intrusion into our health care system, we will have to draw the privacy line somewhere. Maybe the House Democrats' current bill gets it right. Maybe it doesn't. But this vignette should be reason to be skeptical of claims that a massive and complex bill must be enacted as rapidly as its backers would have you believe.

Anyone who claims otherwise is lying, as is anyone who claims that people who bring swastikas to rallies are necessarily self-identifying as Nazis...." So don't expect to see CNN/MSNBC/Katie Couric on this:

Bloomberg's Timothy J. Burger reports the pharmaceutical lobby, PhRMA, has hired David Axelrod's AKPD Media -- a fact that raises eyebrows because Axelrod sold the firm under an agreement that left it owing him $2 million, a lot of money for a political media company.

It's hard to imagine a situation in which, say, Karl Rove was still getting checks from a firm that was, in turn, employed by the drug lobby not drawing fire from the left, and Axelrod's arrangement is, a bit belatedly, getting that attention....

Last year, the Obama campaign paid $2.77 million in consulting fees to AKPD and $340.53 million to GMMB to produce and place ads, Federal Election Commission records show. Firms such as GMMB typically receive a low-to-mid single-digit percentage of ad spending as their fee for an account of that size, said Glenn Totten, a Democratic political consultant.

Axelrod was president and sole shareholder of AKPD from 1985 until he sold his interest after Obama’s victory, government records show. The firm owes Axelrod $2 million, which it’s due to pay in installments beginning Dec. 31. Axelrod’s son, Michael, still works there. He didn’t return a phone call. The firm’s Web site continues to feature David Axelrod’s work on the Obama campaign....

Atlas Shrugs reports: As the pharmaceutical industry spends hundreds of millions supporting a government takeover of health care—one which drug companies obviously believe will increase their profits, even as it raises Medicare premiums for seniors—some may wonder whether White House senior advisors earning millions of dollars paid for in part by the pharmaceutical industry represents the kind of change Americans can believe in.
Culture of Corruption: Axelrod’s big problem
The firm became the source of some controversy during the presidential campaign, when The Washington Post reported that in 2006, Michelle Obama urged the University of Chicago’s hospital, where she served as an executive, to hire ASK to drum up community support for a controversial urban health initiative.
PhRMA Gets the Lando Calrissian Deal
Axelrod’s profits: Uh, who’s on the take from the drug lobby again?!?!
Culture of Corruption also hones in on the cozy cash deals involving Michelle Obama, Valerie Jarrett, Susan Sher, and David Axelrod to create faux grass-roots support for the University of Chicago Medical Center’s patient-dumping scheme.
Now, Bloomberg’s Timothy Burger brings news about Axelrod’s latest health care conflicts of interest that will come as no surprise to those who have fully informed themselves of the Chicago way. While White House press secretary Robert Gibbs assails the motives of grass-roots activists by falsely smearing the movement as corporate-funded shills, Barack Obama’s own senior adviser and chief Astroturfer raked in millions of dollars from Big Pharma.

And the Obama Administration just got busted for LYING about the deal they struck with Big Pharma that has them buying ads supporting whatever the heck Obama's idea of health care is...

C'mon, reporters, have you any pride left?

Why can't Congress be like John Mackey?

Whole Foods Fight
“The last thing our country needs is a massive new health care entitlement that will create hundreds of billions of dollars of new unfunded deficits and move us much closer to a government takeover of our health care system.”

Mackey went on to offer eight ideas for reforms, including these four:

◆ Remove the legal obstacles that slow the creation of high-deductible health insurance plans and health savings accounts (HSAs).

◆ Repeal all state laws which prevent insurance companies from competing across state lines.

◆Enact tort reform to end the ruinous lawsuits that force doctors to pay insurance costs of hundreds of thousands of dollars per year.

◆ Revise tax forms to make it easier for individuals to make a voluntary, tax-deductible donation to help the millions of people who have no insurance and aren’t covered by Medicare, Medicaid or the State Children’s Health Insurance Program.

So, here's a guy who is clearly pointing out that the Emperor has no clothes - and he is RIGHT!

What does he get? Attacked. Our CONGRESSMEN, our Representatives SHOULD have been saying this all along. But they are fools.

John Mackey is the CEO of Whole Foods Market, Inc., the world's most successful organic grocery chain, with 167 stores and almost 30,000 employees.

A profile in the April 6, 1998 issue of Forbes magazine, entitled "New Age Capitalist" described Mackey as a "bushy-haired libertarian" and "crusader for capitalism" who is concerned about health and the environment, and who voted Libertarian in the previous presidential election.

Obama Joker artist unmasked: A fellow Chicagoan
...a 20-year-old college student from Chicago.... Bored during his winter school break, Firas Alkhateeb, a senior history major at the University of Illinois, crafted the picture of Obama with the recognizable clown makeup using Adobe's Photoshop software.

Alkhateeb had been tinkering with the program to improve the looks of photos he had taken on his clunky Kodak camera. The Joker project was his grandest undertaking yet. Using a tutorial he'd found online about how to "Jokerize" portraits, he downloaded the October 23 Time Magazine cover of Obama and began digitally painting over it.

Four or five hours later, he happily had his product.

On Jan. 18, Alkhateeb uploaded the image to photo-sharing site Flickr (shown at right). Over the next two months, he amassed just a couple thousand hits, he said.

Then the counter exploded after a still-anonymous rogue famously found his image, digitally removed the references to Time Magazine, captioned the picture with the word "socialism" and hung printed copies around L.A., making headlines....

..."After Obama was elected, you had all of these people who basically saw him as the second coming of Christ," Alkhateeb said. "From my perspective, there wasn't much substance to him."

"I abstained from voting in November," he wrote in an e-mail. "Living in Illinois, my vote means close to nothing as there was no chance Obama would not win the state." If he had to choose a politician to support, Alkhateeb said, it would be Ohio Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich.

What Obama’s Town Hall Charade and Pam Anderson’s Breasts Have in Common
Now, thanks to Obama’s Rent-a-Mob, thoughtless people watching this past week’s Clown Hall were left thinking after Tuesday’s tête-à-tête that everyone is cool with his granny-slaying, obfuscated to the hundredth power, 1,100 page bill (Or is it bills? Trial lawyers seek return on contributions to Senate Democrats
In February, just two months before he became a Democrat, Sen. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania made a passionate plea for a special tax break for plaintiffs' trial lawyers. His bill, S 437, would allow trial lawyers to deduct immediately on their taxes up-front expenses they incur when investing in contingency lawsuits.
The tax break is reportedly worth $1.6 billion to trial lawyers. If Specter’s amendment passes, this single provision would more than repay the legal industry for its roughly $762 million in political contributions to Democrats over the last two decades.
Which would, in turn, mean more money could be recycled and funneled back to Democrats.

The August 12 date is 26 days later than Cost of Government Day came last year, when it fell on July 16.

Obama blast insurers, but not big pharma UPDATED

Because Big Pharma agreed to sign ON to his plan and their big ad buys is FOR his plan, to distort public perception in his favor, they get a pass, and are to be protected, but the insurance companies are the convenient villain, and he blasts them for trying to influence the debate.

Good for one, but not the other apparently, just another example of Obama's pigs being more equal than others.

Obama Says Insurers Are Trying to Block Change

It certainly is not Presidential for him to be trying to force his will upon the people, for whom he is supposed to work, and to whom he is supposed to be listening. Throwing up the insurance companies as an attempt at a smokescreen is another act of desperation.

It never ends:
Aug. 15 (Bloomberg) -- Two firms that received $343.3 million to handle advertising for Barack Obama’s White House run last year have profited from his top priority as president by taking on his push for health-care overhaul.

One is AKPD Message and Media, the Chicago-based firm headed by David Axelrod until he left last Dec. 31 to serve as a senior adviser to the president. Axelrod was Obama’s top campaign strategist and is now helping sell the health-care plan. The other firm is Washington-based GMMB Campaign Group, where partner Jim Margolis was also an Obama strategist.

This year, AKPD and GMMB received $12 million in advertising business from Healthy Economy Now, a coalition that includes the Washington-based Pharmaceutical Research & Manufacturers of America, known as PhRMA, that is seeking to build support for a health-care overhaul, said the coalition’s spokesman, Jeremy Van Ess.

Hiring Obama’s campaign advisers makes sense, said Julius Hobson, a senior policy adviser in the Washington office of the St. Louis-based law firm, Bryan Cave LLP.

“If you’re in support of the president, then you use the people he used,” said Hobson, 61, who teaches a graduate course in lobbying at George Washington University in Washington.

Obama's Safety: Fear Grows for President as Hate Groups Thrive on Racial Backlash

I call BS on this. Asking questions about the Health Care proposal, and being angry about the responses of Obama, Pelosi and Reid et al IS NOT in any way shape or form a physical threat to the President's life. It simply isn't. And to categorize your law-abiding citizens this way is reprehensible, and yes, it is dangerous.

Dangerous, because what we are seeing is in fact the opposite of threats to Obama. What we are in fact seeing is our legislators and the President's stormtroopers using THE POWER OF POLICE to stop ordinary people from attending public functions. Look at the video of the Police blocking people from asking questions at an ACORN rally, look at Feinstein.

Dangerous because this President uses the power of words and imagery to justify actions. And it is looking like he is gearing up for action against citizens who disagree with him. But it will all be couched in Orwellian doublespeak, that will blame the victims.

I don't like it.

Stung by not succeeding at pushing Zerocare through before the public had a chance to look at it, read it, understand it, discuss it, and amend, approve OR reject it - and stung by the VEHEMENT response from the public, who are genuinely OUTRAGED at what they have seen Reid and his cronies pull in the last 8 months, Reid's only response is to attack.
