Germany braces for May Day clashes

Berlin - Police in Germany were bracing Saturday for what has become traditional May Day violence, fearing clashes with both leftist and right-wing extremists.

The international day of the worker has for the past two decades been accompanied in German cities by sporadic street violence and pitched battles between far-right skinheads, anti-fascist groups and police.

In the capital Berlin some 3 000 police will be deployed overnight on Saturday and twice as many the following night, a police spokesperson told AFP.

Drudge: SF CHRONICLE: WHITE HOUSE LYING

CARNEY: Paper 'violated the coverage rules'...

Update: Chronicle responds after Obama Administration punishes reporter for using multimedia, then claims they didn't - Bronstein at Large, SF Gate (SF Chronicle)
Update: In a pants-on-fire moment, the White House press office today denied anyone there had issued threats to remove Carla Marinucci and possibly other Hearst reporters from the press pool covering the President in the Bay Area.

Chronicle editor Ward Bushee called the press office on its fib:

Sadly, we expected the White House to respond in this manner based on our experiences yesterday. It is not a truthful response. It follows a day of off-the-record exchanges with key people in the White House communications office who told us they would remove our reporter, then threatened retaliation to Chronicle and Hearst reporters if we reported on the ban, and then recanted to say our reporter might not be removed after all.

The Chronicle's report is accurate.

If the White House has indeed decided not to ban our reporter, we would like an on-the-record notice that she will remain the San Francisco print pool reporter.

I was on some of those calls and can confirm Ward's statement.

Messy ball now firmly in White House court.

McDonald's Hiring 62,000

Out of A MILLION APPLICANTS - nasdaq
"We were really pleased with not just the number of applicants, but also the quality of applicants," said Danitra Barnett, vice president of human resources for McDonald's USA. "It left us with a great pool of candidates we can continue to draw from going forward if we need to hire more."

She says the company received about 1 million applicants as part of the hiring push. Approximately 1,000 of the hires made were for management positions.

Lara Logan Breaks Her Silence on Sexual Assault During Protests in Egypt… - Weasel Zippers
...Ms. Logan said she decided almost immediately that she would speak out about sexual violence both on behalf of other journalists and on behalf of “millions of voiceless women who are subjected to attacks like this and worse....”

Since Obama has been president, moreover, not just the time of courts and private lawyers has been tied up; government lawyers have had to spend their time — on the public’s dime — on this nonsense.

Birth Certificate: Where Are the Indignant Questions to Obama? - Andrew C. McCarthy/National Review
One of the things Obama said yesterday was unintentionally striking. He contended that no one should ever have questioned his birth certificate because credible people who had seen it had described it in affidavits. Naturally, he didn’t mention why they were in the position of having to describe it in affidavits: namely, because Obama had refused to authorize production of the actual birth certificate, which he could have done at any moment over the last three years. Look how easy it would have been.

When I read in Dan’s post yesterday about how the White House was also releasing the relevant correspondence between Obama’s lawyers and the Hawaii health department regarding the certificate, I said to myself: “Okay, we are finally going to learn that there’s been some bureaucratic complication beneath all this intrigue.” But no: The request for certified copies of the birth certificate was (finally) made last week, on a Friday, in two short letters — including a four-sentence letter signed by the president that obviously took him considerably less time to review than it takes to stretch before teeing off at the first hole. The birth certificate was produced the following business day (Monday) — with the health department expressing hope that its production “will end the numerous inquiries” it had gotten over the years, which “have been disruptive to staff operations and have strained State resources.” And Obama was able to do his dog-and-pony show yesterday morning, only five days after asking the health department to produce the document.

...Obama knows the mainstream media is in his hip pocket. That is, he knew that he would not be held to the same standard as other politicians, and that if he acted in an unreasonable manner by withholding basic, easily available information that any other person seeking the presidency would be expected — be compelled — to produce, the media would portray as weirdos those demanding the information, not Obama and his stonewalling accomplices. And he also knows that, having now finally produced the document only because the game was starting to hurt him politically, the media will not focus on how easy it would have been to produce the birth certificate three years ago, or on how much time and money has been wasted by his gamesmanship; they’ll instead portray him as beleaguered and the people who have been seeking the basic information (i.e., doing the media’s job) as discredited whackos.

The Damage Done by Obama’s Obstinance - Patterico
...So, bluntly, Mr. President, you should grant him (Lt. Col. Terry Lakin) a pardon, cleaning out his record as honorably discharged and giving him his pension, perhaps on the condition that he publicly admits you are eligible to be President. It’s the least you can do....

And Patrick is right to note that it is somewhat of an embarrassment how easy it was to get the certificate. That makes everyone who claims it was impossible to release it look like idiots. And there has been other fallout as well. For instance, Ed Morrissey writes:

You know who the biggest loser in this might be? CNN. They’re in the middle of their in-depth investigation of the birther movement, and now their unaired episodes are moot....

Another Blue State Success Story: Illinois State Workers' Pensions About to Go Bye-Bye - Doug Ross
For the second year in a row, Illinois ranks dead last when it comes to saving money to pay promised worker pensions -- and the hole is getting worse... According to a new report being issued this morning by the Pew Center on the States, Illinois through fiscal 2009 had set aside just 51% of the $126 billion it will need to pay retired workers their pensions.

...Above and beyond the $62 billion the state needs but doesn't have for pensions is another $44 billion it will need for promised retiree health care, Pew says. Illinois has set aside only .1% of that figure.

One percent.

This is what it is coming to

When the Attorney General won't do anything about intimidation, when the Federal Government won't protect the people in Arizona, when law enforcement looks the other way - people step in.

In this video - the Black Panther goons were going to confront a man who killed two (Columbian) intruders in his neighbor's home. His neighbors made sure they (the Black Panthers) never got to his house. It's long, and it is noisy, but it is peaceful and sure and purposeful. Shocking, in its way, though. The power of people, in a neighborhood, to say, "No more."

There's a price to be paid when the government picks and chooses which laws they are going to enforce, and which groups they are going to "tolerate." We may be on the road to anarchy. None of us want it. But what was the choice here? Let the confrontation happen? Let the homeowner end up beaten? Maybe killed?

Maybe the neighbors should have stood around with cell phones and captured the action as he was beaten, like the employees at this McDonalds.

CAUGHT RED-HANDED: BLOGGER NAILS LEFTISTS FAKING ‘POPULIST’ PROTEST

US Uncut advertised this as the true populist uprising rally, as a contrast to the phony astroturfed Tea Party. But if you invite the public to a rally beginning at 5pm and running to 6:30pm, and the organizers show up as a group early at the assigned place and then depart ten minutes before the public even has a chance to join in; and then go on a flash-mob march that features rehearsed choreographed dances; then it becomes completely obvious that this isn’t a mass movement, but rather just a small activist group doing political skits which they had practiced ahead of time, with no public involvement whatsoever.

Of course, since JPMorgan Chase is off the table, the plot having been exposed (caught on tape) a couple weeks ago, Bank of America is a convenient stand in. The game is in play, the scripts are assigned, the meme is "We're not broke (heads in sand), There's PLENTY of money! It's just that THEY (insert target du jour here) have it, and you don't, and you need to take it back! Hate the rich, Rah Rah Rah!"

Once you know the drill you can catch it - everywhere! Read up on the planned Union protests... that verbiage is inserted, it's all the evil corporations, if they'd just fork it over, the state wouldn't be going broke, No-o-o-o-o-o.

And, of course, we have our local group of Soros whores: ◼ The rallies are part of a campaign called “Make Them Pay.” Oh, and lookie-there, Michael Moore surfaces again. Makes you want to see the money trail, doesn't it?

The S&P said the move signals there's at least a one-in-three likelihood that it could lower its long-term rating on the United States within two years.

Murderers of the Fogel family captured

Most of the Fogel family was slaughtered a little over a month ago by Muslims waging
jihad fi sabil Allah — “war for the sake of Allah.” Each person in the photo above was
killed their home
as the family prepared to go to bed: Udi (36), his wife Ruth (35), their children
Yoav (11, bottom center), Elad (4, bottom left), and and Hadas (3 months). Ruth and Udi were surprised,
fought back, but were killed in their bedroom. Hadas –the infant!– had his throat slit so deep he was almost decapitated. Three children survived: one, a toddler, was found next to his parents’ corpses, trying to make them “wake up.”

The suspects have confessed to the stabbings and re-enacted the murders, security forces said on Sunday. According to Army Radio, they did not express remorse for their crimes.

The article also points out that these two went back to kill the baby, after they heard it start crying.

the current US president uses force and at the same time deception and conspiracy unlike Bush who clearly resorted to weapon and military action to save the capitalistic system
