So, Ed Schultz (D) gets a week off (and Imus got what? Fired?) And Anthony Weiner (D) gets to laugh it off.
Question: 1.) Will Weiner resign? and 2.) Will the media even mention this? 3.) If he was a Republican, and not a Dem, would this be 24/7, Gary Condit style?
Apparently, Weiner is not sufficiently concerned about being "hacked" in this manner to have filed a police report.

Friday evening I logged onto Twitter to find that I had about a dozen new mentions in less than an hour, which is a rare occurrence. When I checked one of the posts that I had been tagged in I saw that it was a picture that had supposedly been tweeted to me by Congressman Anthony Weiner.◼ The Comely Coed: I'm Not His Mistress (I Didn't Suspect You Were), We Never Met (I Didn't Say You Had), And I Am The Victim of a Prank (Yeah, Aren't We All?) - Ace
The account that these tweets were sent from was familiar to me; this person had harassed me many times after the Congressman followed me on Twitter a month or so ago. Since I had dealt with this person and his cohorts before I assumed that the tweet and the picture were their latest attempts at defaming the Congressman and harassing his supporters.

New 'New Palestinian Authority law to grant all convicted terrorists monthly pay'
◼ The PMW report points out that more than 6,000 Palestinians are currently serving time in Israeli prisons for terror- related offenses.
So, effectively, the US will be paying salaries to terrorists.
Among those now eligible for salaries are Abdullah Barghouti, serving 67 life sentences for acts that include planning the Sbarro restaurant (2001) and Moment cafe (2002) suicide bombings in Jerusalem; Hassan Salameh, serving 38 life sentences for offenses that include planning a series of 1996 bus bombings; and Jamal Abu al-Hijja, serving nine life sentences for planning 2005 bombings in Hadera and Netanya.Coincidentally - ◼ President Obama will call for billions in aid to Arab nations - azcentral
"Hundreds of Palestinian prisoners are serving multiple lifesentences for murder and will receive a PA salary, which goes directly to the terrorist or the terrorist’s family. All of these prisoners, no matter what their crime or affiliation, will receive the same base salary. Married prisoners will also receive additional pay, as well as those with children."

In July 2008, the press was full of reports of Obama's anti-Israel connections, including the fact that his foreign policy advisor in his Senate office was the odious Samantha Power – who proposed international military intervention to end the 'Israeli occupation' – as well as Zbigniew Brzezinski, who was an official campaign spokesman, along with many others.◼ Obama Expects Modest Fundraising Quarter - National Journal 2011

There was a coup. Bless Hillary and Panetta.
◼ Jarrett refused to allow the president to give that approval. Daley then informed Clinton that he too would fully support Panetta in his actions, even if it meant disclosing the president’s indecision to the American public
Nothing changed with the president’s opinion – he continued to avoid having one. Every time military and intelligence officials appeared to make progress in forming a position, Jarrett would intervene and the stalling would begin again...What happened from there is what was described by me as a “masterful manipulation” by Leon Panetta. Panetta indicated to Obama that leaks regarding knowledge of Osama Bin Laden’s location were certain to get out sooner rather than later, and action must be taken by the administration or the public backlash to the president’s inaction would be “…significant to the point of political debilitation.” It was at that time that Obama stated an on-ground campaign would be far more acceptable to him than a bombing raid. This was intended as a stalling tactic, and it had originated from Jarrett. Such a campaign would take both time, and present a far greater risk of failure. The president had been instructed by Jarrett to inform Mr., Panetta that he would have sole discretion to act against the Osama Bin Laden compound. Jarrett believed this would further delay Panetta from acting, as the responsibility for failure would then fall almost entirely on him. What Valerie Jarrett, and the president, did not know is that Leon Panetta had already initiated a program that reported to him –and only him, involving a covert on the ground attack against the compound. Basically, the whole damn operation was already ready to go – including the specific team support Intel necessary to engage the enemy within hours of being given notice. Panetta then made plans to proceed with an on-ground assault.

Just so there's no doubt - I think killing Bin Laden is a great thing, but I find the reactions interesting.
◼ Especially the contrasts in the "Mainstream Media" coverage then and now: Rewind: In Bush Years, Killing of Iraqi al-Qaeda Leader Zarqawi Greeted by Media Scowls
...asserting Zarqawi's death was just another regrettable part of a cycle of retribution, a geopolitical version of the Hatfields and McCoys
The image itself, a disembodied head, connects this event to the abject misery that Zarqawi had brought to so many people in Iraq over the course of his deadly career. He was the one who reportedly sawed off the head of Nicholas Berg, and now Zarqawi's head was appearing, lifeless, eyes closed, as if it too were somehow detached from his body. For those who want revenge, the head of Zarqawi is a welcome sight; but it reminds others how much this war has been about cycles of killing, retribution, tribal and sectarian violence, and the most primitive destructive urges...
And now we gaze on Zarqawi's face one last time, as he reminds us that the new product wasn't so new; the war turned out to have all too much of what wars have always had in them, death, destruction and chaos. Zarqawi's head forces us to confront once again the most primitive dynamic of war: It's an eye for an eye, or a head for a head.
While the leftwing gals on ABC’s The View are currently high-fiving President Obama, there’s curiously little mention on the show about their own efforts to spread doubt as to the cause of 9/11. So I eagerly await the next radio or print missive from former View co-host and noted metallurgist Rosie O’Donnell on the impact of Osama’s death.
◼ Cindy Sheenan Declares President Obama, Majority of Americans ‘Stupid’ - Ed Driscoll
Also worth noting there: (dripping with sarcasm, Maureen Dowd wrote:) Mr. Bush justified his Iraq war by stressing the 9/11 losses. He emphasized the humanity of the Iraqis who desire freedom
Not a hint of sarcasm as Obama proclaimed the bombing of Libya on that same justification, and no other.
It is interesting to see the various reactions to the elimination of Bin Laden.

All hail... yep, He really DOES walk on water! Two perspectives
President Obama performed an astonishingly difficult balancing act between the release of his birth certificate and his announcement of Osama bin Laden’s death — and pulled it off dazzlingly.
Wednesday, he made light of claims that he was born outside the country and gently chastised his critics to grow up. Friday, he authorized the attack that killed the country’s most hated enemy since Hitler. Saturday, he honed his comic delivery to slay the audience at the White House Correspondents Dinner. Sunday, he announced bin Laden’s death, in a pitch-perfect speech he wrote himself.
You usually need to look to comic books to find someone moving so skillfully between roles: Bruce Wayne donning a tuxedo to charm Gotham society one night, Batman capturing his arch-enemy the next. It’s the kind of thing that doesn’t happen in real life.
But it did.

"Multiple sources" Bin Laden Dead
RT @jacksonjk: House Intelligence committee aide confirms that Osama Bin Laden is dead. U.S. has the body.
◼ BREAKING: Obama To Address Nation At 10:30 EDT UPDATE: CNN Says It's "National Security Related". Multiple Confirmations: Bin Laden Dead
...killed a week ago, they DNA tested the body - killed by a US missile...
Conflicting reports - killed by CIA, shot to the head, in a firefight, yesterday, a week ago...
An interesting article on the legality/illegality of assassination under international law.

The issue - for those of us who believed it would have been better to just assassinate Saddam, (as an example) and save countless American lives - the issue is that it is a slippery slope - that if you sanction this, you declare open season on all world leaders, including, and maybe especially, our own. And this is not a good thing. Civility, at its pinnacle, was this 'gentlemen's agreement' between all the nations of the world.
Now that it has been broken, what happens?
