In incidents involving police, 2/3 involve police officers & felons of same race. But Sharpton/Jackson/Farakhan won't talk about that.
Justifiable homicide is (again!) racist, as shown by pg 33, incidents involving citizens, 3/4 involve citizens & felons of same race.
So yes, the going for guns stuff is pure theatrics. Actually, it's worse than theatrics; it's very bad and harmful theatrics. Shame!
